Cihangir takes its name from Prince (Sehzade) Cihangir (1531–1553), who was the youngest child of Ottoman Sultan Solomon the magnificent and Hurrem Sultan. He had to see his brother Mustafa’s execution and died tragically because of his sorrow in his early ages.

Cihangir, where Villa Zurich is located, is an elite and peaceful neighborhood filled with coffee shops, fashion boutiques and spectacular gourmet food options. Hotel is very close to Taksim Square and metro station(5 mins by walking), Galata (10 mins by walking), Tophane (3 mins by walking), Karakoy (6 mins by walking) and Sultanahmet (10 mins with tram).

Taksim Square is connected to Istiklal Street, which is famous with its shopping places, all kinds of cafes, restaurants and bars. Istiklal Street is also home to many galleries, museums and all buildings with history.

You can easily reach the famous Galatasaray High School (Lycée de Galatasaray) is one of the most effective high schools of modern Turkey. Built in 1481, it is the oldest Turkish high school in the world. Also surrounded by coffee shops, bookstores, cafes, restaurants, galleries and boutiques and 5 minutes by walking to famous French Street (Cezayir Sokak).

Galata is located at the north side of the Golden Horn, that is one of the most visited and popular place in Istanbul because of it’s hosting Galata Tower. Pass through the streets which is full with antique music shops from Tunnel to Galata and feel the spirit of Constantinople.

Tophane has a coastline with the Bosphorus which contains an international harbour and plenty of authentic nargile (shisha) cafes. Istanbul Modern Art Museum, that is one of the best contemporary art museums in Istanbul, near Tophane. It has a constant stream of world famous exhibitions.

Karakoy is the modern name for the ancient Galata, connected with the surrounding neighborhoods through streets. The Galata Bridge links Karaköy to Eminönü in the southwest. It has a wide range of museums and churches such as Ottoman Bank Museum, Jewish Museum of Turkey, San Benoit Church and many more.

Sultanahmet offers visitors a collage of culture, history and architecture. Visit fascinating Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque, walk through the city’s ancient streets and colorful marketplaces such as Grand Bazaar, or take a boat ride to view Istanbul.
